  In order to take full advantage of your time in Ecuador,
we offer you the option of studying Spanish while volunteering in
one of our programs APF Team's main goal is to help the needy.
The work with our volunteers has
proved to be an enriching experience for both the people who are
being helped and for the volunteers who have the opportunity to
help the less fortunate while learning and practicing a new language.
To help to the less fortunate concerns to everybody. Therefore,
we offer the opportunity to volunteer in two programs:
1 - Humanitarian
2 - Ecological
Because the latter is being developed outside
of Quito, your accommodations will be in the nature reserves or
stations in which you are volunteering. In the Humanitarian programs,
however, you can stay with a host family in Quito.
 Programs:
Our Spanish & Volunteer programs are very
flexible regarding the amount of time you would like to volunteer
and/or study.
Therefore we give you two program options.
Volunteer Option 1:
Spanish and Volunteer ( Humanitarian volunteer in Quito )
This program is designed for people who would like to waste no time
in our country. People who opt to enroll in this program would be
studying Spanish and volunteering at the same time.
We are in need of volunteers for a variety of programs that work
with the elderly, with children, and with community outreach programs
throughout Quito.
To participate in this program, you might need to have a strong
command of the Spanish language.
*Minimum time commitment: 2 weeks of Spanisch at the APF and 2 weeks
volunteering.
Volunteer Option 2:
Spanish and Ecological volunteer (Outside Quito)
With this program, you will begin by taking a few weeks of Spanish
lessons at APF in Quito, in order to improve your fluency level
in Spanish before you volunteer in the project you have chosen.
We have programs in the Coast, the Jungle, and the Highlands.
We advise that you take at least 2 weeks of Spanish prior to volunteering
if you do not have any knowledge of the language.
*Minimum time commitment: 2 weeks of Spanish at APF and 2 weeks
volunteering
Note: You can volunteer as a guide in
the Jungle, but the minimum time for this program is 6 months. You
need an advanced level in Spanish and English. It is important for
applicants to be very interested to learn about the Amazon.
